US: CPI rises 0.2% in November, up 1.7% YoY
The US consumer price index increased a seasonally adjusted 0.2% in November from a month earlier, the Labor Department said Thursday.
Excluding the categories of food and energy, the so-called core CPI rose 0.2% from October, the largest one-month increase since August. Expectations were for both headline and core prices would rise 0.2% in November.
On yearly basis, overall prices rose 1.7%, the strongest reading since October 2014 and matching expectations, while core prices were up 2.1% on the year, below the 2.2% expected.
