EUR/USD dips below 1.3050, hits fresh lows

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - After failing to overcome the 1.3100 level during the European session, EUR/USD came under pressure and turned negative, sliding to fresh lows in recent dealings.

EUR/USD erased daily gains and broke below previous lows around 1.3050 to hit a fresh low of 1.3040 before finding support. At time of writing, the pair is trading at the 1.3045 area, recording a 0.2% loss on the day.

From a technical view, Valeria Bednarik, analyst at Fxstreet.com recently commented that a break below support around 1.3040/50 should favor a deeper correction in EUR/USD today, towards the 1.2980 area.

Bednarik locates next supports at 1.3040, 1.3000 and 1.2960, while she places resistances at 1.3110, 1.3155 and 1.3190.

Gold prices have been retesting the key 1400.00-1398.00 support level, during US trading Tuesday, thereby activating a bullish scenario that could potentially drive the yellow metal towards an upside target of 1420. Prolonged stability at this key region would portend a bullish continuation and likely uptrend in the near-term. Presently, gold is trading at USD $1397.52 per oz. in these moments, falling off European highs in the region of 1412 earlier.
